The procurement department is hiring a professional buyer with several years of experience in procurement international vendor negotiations mainly related to services contracts in various domains such as office facilities, IT and Telecom, professional services, manpower for an international company. The new Buyer will be responsible for negotiations with vendors from all regions (APAC, EMEA, Americas) including coordinating legal terms reviews and will be reporting to the APAC Procurement manager based in Kuala Lumpur. SWIFT provides the platform, messaging, standards, and products & services to over 10.500 customers in 215 countries and territories. Our employees are the foundation of this success.
The candidate will have the capability to evolve along the growth ambition of the SWIFT global procurement team. He/she will be more specifically in charge of:
  • Performing procurement activities in an accurate and timely manner, such as preparing and defining requests for proposal, vendors contract terms and pricing negotiations, issuing purchase orders, proposing contracts.
  • Investigating and resolving delivery and/or invoicing problems within his area and to escalate where needed.
  • Ensuring timely process of purchase orders or contracts terms negotions, follow-up on delivery of services delivery, informing customers on progress and achievements and advising them on escalated problems/ issues.
  • Support senior procurement colleagues in sourcing events (RFI/RFP).
  • Participating in projects within own area by executing parts of projects. May at some point manage small projects.
  • Maintaining and developing internal customers contacts to keep sound understanding of their needs and communicating to them the approved spending level and other relevant information such as budget estimation.
  • Dealing with international vendors on a daily basis.
  • Preparing standard reports/presentations and statistical analyses.
  • Showing a continuous improvement mindset in terms of processes efficiency and quality of services.
  • A 3-year degree, a recognized buyer certification or a university degree
  • At least 3-5 years of experience and for university degrees at least 2 to 3 years of experience in procurement or related area (with international customer and vendor interactions and exposures).
Other Requirements:
  • Languages : Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (spoken and written), other regional languages will be additional assets.
  • Domains : General services / Office Facilities / IT & Telecommunications Software, Hardware and related professional services.
  • Strong Negotiation skills and persuasive dealing with conflicts (internal and external)
  • Microsoft Office Expert level is required (Excel, Word, Powerpoint,…)
  • Knowledge of procurement related SAP modules or addons (MM, FI, VIM…) , including ability of the candidate to understand quickly the company IT customized tools (SAP customized functionalities, Intranet applications,…).

Opened in March 2013, the SWIFT Kuala Lumpur Corporate Services Centre currently offers a wide range of support and services to SWIFT around the globe, including Consulting, IT development, qualification testing, Customer support, Business services like KYC, Ref Data or Business Intelligence, accounting and finance analysis.
